OMEGA LABYRINTH LIFE| Rated M | August 1st

Switch_OmegaLabyrinthLife_03
Omega Labyrinth Life

Omega Labyrinth Life is an action role playing game featuring anime inspired visuals that includes combat, farming activities, and more. It is for Mature audiences.

Switch_OmegaLabyrinthLife_01
Omega Labyrinth Life

Why should you care about Omega Labyrinth Life?

The game looks to be a quality made game witch crisp, colorful visuals, role playing elements such as battling monsters and gaining experience, while exploring a large game world.

Two of my favorite series are Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley, both of which are farming simulator games. Seeing Omega Labyrinth Life include farming aspects just makes me all giddy inside.

But this is the part where I stamp a huge WARNING for you. DO NOT be fooled by the game’s colorful, cherry appearance.

This game is rated M for Mature and includes a lot of sexual innuendo. Like, a lot a lot.

This game is definitely for people looking for a solid game from Japan made for mature audiences.

Enjoy Omega Labyrinth Life if it sounds like your cup of tea.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: M for Mature (partial nudity, sexual themes, strong language)
  • GENRE: Adventure, Role-Playing, Simulation, Strategy
  • PLAYERS: 1 player

Chroma Squad

Chroma Squad is a tactical role playing game about stunt actors who decide to film their own “Power Ranger” inspired TV show.

Switch_ChromaSquad_03
Chroma Squad

Why should you care about Chroma Squad?

If you are a huge fan of Power Rangers, Chroma Squad may be right for you.

The game is heavily inspired by Power Rangers and is presented with pixel visuals and a variety of colors. Fans of retro, NES style graphics will find much to love here.

Chroma Squad’s premise is something I have not seen before: the game is about fighting monsters but fake ones in front of the camera.

Of course, the game includes customization features, tactics based combat, skill trees, crafting, as well as multiple endings.

This game may look simple but it has a lot packed in under the hood. Also, it sits under 1GB in storage space.

For those looking for a single player experience that doesn’t take up too much of your Nintendo Switch’s storage, Chroma Squad might just be for you.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: T for Teen (language, mild violence, suggestive themes)
  • GENRE: Adventure, Role-Playing, Simulation, Strategy
  • PLAYERS: 1 player

Fobia is a platforming game with puzzle elements presented with a striking art style about overcoming fears.

Switch_Fobia_02
Fobia

Why should you care about Fobia?

This game looks like pure gold! If you are a fan of artsy visuals, puzzles, or platforming elements, be excited.

Fobia conjures up the visual appearance and feeling of stellar puzzle, platform games from the past such as Limbo and TypoMan. And that is a great thing!

Those game were a lot of fun and Fobia should be, too. Why?

Fobia promises to deliver a a wide range of puzzles that span various difficulties, so you should not have to be worried about the game being too easy. Instead, expect a challenge throughout from start to finish.

Additionally, the game is designed around the idea of fear and overcoming it. The world is crafted to focus on this premise in which your next step may be your last.

Fobia also includes multiple endings so prepare to play this more than once. This game clocks in at a compact 484MB for a unique single player experience.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: E10+for Everyone 10+ (fantasy violence, mild blood)

Subdivision Infinity DX is a mission-based space exploration game with galactic dogfights, a campaign mode, and customization.

Switch_SubdivisionInfinityDX_04
Subdivision Infinity DX

Why should you care about Subdivision Infinity DX?

This game just looks like a lot of fun.

If you like action oriented games, space shooters, galactic traversal, or space combat, Subdivision Infinity DX should scratch that itch on your Nintendo Switch.

I’ve been a big fan of arcade-like space shooters since Nintendo GameCube launched with a Star Wars game, and I have been wanting a solid one for the Nintendo Switch.

Subdivision Infinity DX looks to be solid as it includes over 30 missions, multiple ships, a vast array of weapons to upgrade each ship with, boss fights, and more.

The realistic, finely crafted visuals only enhance the robust experience underneath.

I know I am excited. Subdivision Infinity DX requires a solid 1.8GB of storage space and is a single player experience.

►PILLARS OF ETERNITY: COMPLETE EDITION | Rated M | August 8th

Pillars of Eternity

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition is a critically acclaimed port of a PC fantasy game with tactical gameplay.

Switch_PillarsofEternity-Complete_04
Pillars of Eternity

Why should you care about Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition?

I have always heard about how good the Pillars of Eternity series was and now Nintendo Switch owners (including myself) have a chance to play it.

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition is a fantasy themed role playing game with tactics-based gameplay that includes all additional content in one single purchase.

The game includes standard fantasy ideas such as a variety of races, dungeons, as well as fantastical environments you will be visiting through the length of the game.

With a story mode and detailed yet gritty visuals, this game is determined to keep you hooked for the length of your stay which may be a long time as this game can take anywhere from 30 hours to over 100 to beat.

If you enjoy high level of character customization, completing quests, managing inventory, and dealing with role playing statistics . . . look no further.

But be warned: this is a mature rated game and includes fantastical creatures, blood, and violence among other mature content.

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition requires a chunk of storage space as it weighs in at 15.8GB. Clear some space for this hefty, content rich, single player experience.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: M for Mature (blood, sexual themes, strong language, violence)
  • GENRE: Adventure, Other, Role-Playing, Strategy
  • PLAYERS: 1 player

►FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME ULTIMATE SLASHER EDITION | Rated M | August 13th

Friday the 13th: The Game

Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Edition is single and online multiplayer action game about surviving the clutches of a masked killer.

Switch_Fridaythe13th_02
Friday the 13th: The Game

Why should you care about Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Edition?

One of my favorite horror movie franchises of all time is Friday the 13th, so to see the newest game based on the movie franchise come to Nintendo Switch makes me a very happy camper (pun intended).

Friday the 13th: The Game is set at a campsite and players pick either a camp counselor or Jason Voorhees (the masked killer himself) to play as.: One player gets to be the killer while up to seven others get to play as counselors in an action oriented online game.

The goal is to survive as the counselors and to kill everyone as Jason, both providing different ways of play.

Of course, since this is the ultimate edition, it includes a single player experience where players control Jason as he performs kills on unsuspecting counselors, different costumes based on Jason’s appearance from his various movie iterations, and additional kills.

But be warned: this game is mature rated and contains killing, sexual themes, blood, and graphic violence.

Friday the 13th: The Game will set you back 3.5GB of storage space, requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play online, and is a single and multiplayer experience.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: M for Mature (blood and gore, violence, partial nudity, sexual content, strong language, use of drugs, users interact )
  • GENRE: Action, Multiplayer, Other

►YU-GI-OH! LEGACY OF THE DUELIST: LINK EVOLUTION | Rated T | August 20th

Switch_YuGiOh-LegacyOfTheDuelist_01
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is an anime-inspired card game based on the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! series.

Switch_YuGiOh-LegacyOfTheDuelist_05
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution

Why should you care about Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution?

Yu-Gi-Oh! was one of my favorite card games as a kid, and I am glad a video game version is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch.

If you don’t know what Yu-Gi-Oh! is, it is a long running and hugely popular anime show about a card game of monsters, dragons, and spells. Cool stuff! And of course there are heroes to root for and villains to despise.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution specifically covers the entirety of the anime series up until 2019 in its story mode and allows for both single and multiplayer gameplay (which is a must for a multiplayer card game).

The last Yu-Gi-Oh! video game I played was for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance which had maybe 1,000 cards at best if my memory serves correct.

This game, though? It includes over 9,000 cards, an updated play area, updated terminology, and many of the characters from the various Yu-Gi-Oh! seasons.

But don’t fret.

The developers of the game have said the story mode provides tutorials, information, and cards at a steady pace as not to overwhelm newcomers  or fans that have drifted away from the series (such as myself). This is definitely my most anticipated game of the month by far.

Get ready to duel with Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution and clear 1.4GB of space for this single and multiplayer digital card game.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: T for Teen (fantasy violence, mild blood, partial nudity )
  • GENRE: Board Game, Simulation, Strategy, Puzzle
  • PLAYERS: up to 2 players
  • FILE SIZE: 1.4GB
  • PUBLISHER: Konami
  • DEVELOPER: Other Ocean Interactive
  • NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED FOR ONLINE PLAY

►ONINAKI  | Rated T | August 21st

Switch_ONINAKI_05
ONINAKI

Oninaki is an action based role playing game about protecting Life with a striking visual style and a rich story.

Switch_ONINAKI_01
ONINAKI

Why should you care about Oninaki?

Oninaki is a brand new game from role playing game veterans at Square Enix (the creators of the popular Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Dragon Quest series). And it is developed by the developers of I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear, two other modern day role playing gems.

I have always adored Square Enix’s role playing games because I enjoy being transported to a fantasy realm full of monsters and magic. And Oninaki hits all of these hard.

The game is set in a fantasy realm about a “Watcher’s” journey to protect Life after Death.

Combat is flashy, fast paced, action oriented, and carried out in real time–this means that with every button you press, your character will slash his sword and strike any enemies your battling.

The game is also heavily story-driven with text, voice overs, and characters with depth to get behind, care about, and root for.

All of this is presented with unique almost watercolor, hand drawn, cartoon inspired visuals that will be sure to catch your eye as it has done mine.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: T for Teen (fantasy violence, mild blood, mild language)
  • GENRE: Action, Role-Playing, Adventure
  • PLAYERS: 1 player
  • FILE SIZE: 2.8GB
  • PUBLISHER: Square Enix
  • DEVELOPER: Tokyo RPG Factory

►ASTRAL CHAIN | Rated T | August 30th

Switch_AstralChain_01
ASTRAL CHAIN

Astral Chain is a futuristic, story-driven action game about mankind’s last stand against an alien invasion from another dimension.

Switch_AstralChain_08
ASTRAL CHAIN

Why should you care about Astral Chain?

Oh, boy! I have been waiting for this one. August ends with a bang.

An action packed bang in the from of Astral Chain, a big-budget action game published by Nintendo itself and developed by acclaimed developers at PlatinumGames (creators of the Bayonetta series, also on Nintendo Switch, among many other fast-paced games).

Astral Chain oozes production value which is a great thing. The game looks like quality and is prepared to serve a giant story ripe with intrigue and exciting combat.

Humanity is fighting interdimensional aliens and teams up with a living weapon called Legion to stop the the alien invaders. The game has a futuristic setting which you may love or hate as well as a heavily anime inspired (yet realistically proportioned) character designs.

But, the combat is what attracted me the most to this game.

It is fast paced action at its finest with quick button presses equating to a flurry of moves on-screen that look like a brutal but beautiful dance.

The game promises to let players control two characters at once in which it has termed “Synergetic Action”.

Combos will look stylish as players use a variety of different Legion to fit each scenario. I, for one, am looking forward to trying out a variety of the living weapons to find the best ones that works for me and my play style.

The game also allows players to pick their character’s gender, skin color, and hair as well as other customization features. This is a great feature for those looking to personalize their gaming experience.

Astral Chain requires 9.6GB of storage space for its promising gameplay experience that is primarily a single player game.

GAME DETAILS:

  • RATED: T for Teen (drug reference, language, use of alcohol, violence)
  • GENRE: Action
  • PLAYERS: up to 2 players
  • FILE SIZE: 9.6GB
  • PUBLISHER: Nintendo
  • DEVELOPER: PlatinumGames Inc

Do you need more Nintendo Switch storage?

Downloading Nintendo Switch games requires serious storage space.

And if you have been downloading games since you got your Nintendo Switch, you might be in the same place I was: I wanted more games but I needed more storage. The internal memory wasn’t enough anymore. What to do, what to do?!?

Upgrade, of course.

I originally started with a 128GB microSD card. This little thing lasted me for a solid year or so and I can’t say enough good things about it.

Check it out if you want a modest size increase.

If you are looking for a huge increase in size, however, check out this 400GB microSD card.

Essential microSD 400gb card 500p
My awesome 400GB Nintendo Switch memory card.

I bought this to replace my 128GB microSD card and have not looked back since.

The 400GB microSD card is more than enough room and I have over 150 games downloaded to my Nintendo Switch at once with nearly 200GB free (you mileage may vary but you will be able to store a lot of games).

Visit this link if you are interested in the 128GB microSD capacity.

Or, visit this link if you need the beefiest of storage space and decide to go with a 400GB microSD.

I can vouch for both and I have not had a problem with either.

Happy downloading!
