2) Cult of the Lamb: Unholy Alliance Update

What Is Cult of the Lamb?
Cult of the Lamb is one of my favorite action-strategy games of modern times. Gameplay is a balance of swift action combat and strategy-simulation management.
Sometimes, you explore the woods and defeat monsters with various weapons.
Other times, you will manage and tend to the needs of your very own cult.
Just do not let anyone get sick (sadly, followers can and will pass away).
With that said, this balance of gameplay is such a joy and prevents the game from ever getting stale. I know I never got bored, from beginning to end.
Really, this is some of the most fun I ever had with my Nintendo Switch and the game plays well: I only ever had one game crash in the dozens of hours I played.
What Does Cult Of The Lamb New Update Add?
Cult of the Lamb’s newest update, specifically, added cooperative play (along with new content) that allows up to two players to play together.
That is super duper cool if you have family, friends, or a significant other you would like to play with.
Regardless, new content is always welcome for one of the best Nintendo Switch games ever.
I suggest you get this game if you like, ya know, action-strategy fun.

3) DREDGE: The Iron Rig

What Is Dredge?
Dredge is a horror fishing game (a sentence I have never written in my entire life until now) about traversing open waters and islands to find fish.
Of course, you can sell fish for profit and island inhabitants are interactive. There are many treasures to find, too, and stories to be heard.
What I like about Dredge in particular is the ability to upgrade the ship in order to gain access to even better fish and locations.
This is a solid simulation strategy game, if I do say so myself, with a focus on exploration and fishing.
This Iron Rig update, specifically, adds a stack of new content: new gameplay that lasts approximately 5 hours, a new side story to experience, over 50 new fish to find and catch, and more.
I am pretty sure there is no other game identical to Dredge.
So do not dread Dredge; download the free demo and give Dredge a try.

Magical Delicacy is a relaxing cooking adventure game in which players control a witch. The game does a superb job at combining wonderful 2D art, social simulation, and cooking.
Really, Magical Delicacy is one of those games that I always wanted but did not know I needed until I saw the trailer.
It combines the fun cooking elements from games like Harvest Moon and Stardew valley with adventure aspects of Nintendo’s Metroid and uses classic 2D visuals which creates one unique experience.
Some might say the game is . . . magical. I might say that. I said it.

What Is Minami Lane?
Minami Lane is a strategy game about managing villagers on a street. This game exudes Animal Crossing vibes, and I appreciate those vibes very much.
Creating a bustling street from scratch by building houses and crafting meals for residents is the chill (yet involved) gameplay that I enjoy for short bursts of time.
Minami Lane is also the type of game you start for a five-minute session on a Saturday morning, play for a bit, and then realize two hours have gone by.
Lots of lost time yet fun times ahead.

7) Elrentaros Wanderings

What Is Elrentaros Wanderings?
Elrentaros Wanderings is a fantasy role playing game with action combat.
Furthermore, the game’s quick action gameplay looks fun and reminds me of a modernized 1990s Super Nintendo experience.
The launch trailer (which I have included for your viewing pleasure above) showcases fun gameplay mechanics beyond combat such as social interactions, farming, character upgrades, and an anime art style.
I think the developers crammed every fun simulation aspect into this and it shows.
This might just satisfy you if you are a fan of the action-farming series Rune Factory or the farming-simulation game Stardew Valley like I am.

What Is Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Disney Dreamlight Valley is an simulation adventure game in which players explore, complete quests, and interact with iconic characters in a Disney themed world.
This new, free update added 1920s-themed content based on fashion and themes of that era. I just think this update is the “cat’s meow”, the “bee’s knees”.
You know, early 1900s slang for . . . I like it.
And you might like this update, too, if you are a fan of early 1900s music, fashion, and design. I included the update trailer above for your viewing pleasure.
On a side note, I think it is fantastic that this social simulator continues being supported since its 2023 release with cool updates that continuously transforms this interactive world of Disney.

But it is so rewarding when your cult expands, your village thrives and grows with new buildings, and you get better at the game’s combat nuances.
